NY State is reopening by regions and based on scientific data and metrics. In addition, regions are allowed to reopen based on 7 required metrics. The reopening is going slowly though. To see where your region stands please click here.
Regarding major sport teams reopening, Governor Cuomo said: “I encourage major sports teams to plan to reopen without fans. New York State is ready and willing to partner with teams from any professional leagues that are interested in playing games safely, so fans can enjoy watching from home. If our teams — hockey, baseball, basketball, football or any others — can make it work safely for players and staff on their end, we’re supportive.”
Here at Rey Diving we are still waiting to hear from the YMCA for a definite pool reopening date, so we can restart our scuba training. Tentatively, that will happen end of June or early July. Of course, the YMCA depends on the State mandate based on the data mentioned above, so fingers crossed!
