On January 12th, the CDC issued an Order effective January 26, 2021. It requires all air passengers arriving to the US from a foreign country to get tested for COVID-19 infection no more than 3 days before their flight departs and to provide proof of the negative result or documentation of having recovered from COVID-19 to the airline before boarding the flight.
In response to the CDC order effective January 26th, I contacted the hospital in Cozumel (Costamed) where scuba divers coming with us to Cozumel in February, will be taking the COVID-19 test no more than 3 days before boarding their flights on the way back to the US. The cost of the test it’s about ~$50.
Costamed in Cozumel was endorsed on May 2019, by the Joint Commission International, becoming 1 of 8 hospitals in the country with that endorsement. In addition to holding accreditation from the General Health Board, certification from the Canadian Healthcare Council, the Mexican Council on Medical Tourism, Costamed also holds the title of Physical Examiners from the Norwegian NAVY.
